About Dancing Stars Studio

Dancing Stars is West Alabama's most exciting and innovative dance program. Founded in 2006 by Veronica Young and Tanika Rice, Dancing Stars offers professional quality dance instruction and performance opportunities to students ages 5 to 18 years of age.

Our mission is simple. It is to empower the students through the art of dance. From creative movement to the most advanced classes, our students gain a solid understanding of proper technique and terminology while also developing a greater appreciation of movement and music. Arts Education empowers and defines self-esteem, discipline, creativity, and self-confidence.

Our goal is for each student to not only excel at dance but to have the self confidence to achieve goals in every aspect of their life.

Dancing Stars has a studio in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. As part of our Community Outreach,  we have partnerships with the Tuscaloosa City School System offering dance instruction in three Tuscaloosa City Schools.

In the last 17years, we have had many accomplishments. We have been featured on national television on Lifetime and Oxygen Channel (twice). Local television on Good Day Alabama and Good Morning Tuscaloosa. We have dancers in dance programs at Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Albany State, and University of North Alabama. Many of our students seek professional opportunities. One dancer has made it to the final round of the Miami Heat, another to the Detroit Pistons, and finally we have a dancer from our program on the New Orleans Pelicans Dance Team. Lastly, the Dancing Stars program offer scholarships. Seven students have earned  received this prestigious award.
